About Alyssa

Alyssa Broughton has been on the stage since the age of seven.  She has worked with the Shelby High Theatre and has also been in many of Crest High School Theatre productions. Alyssa has played the role of Chairy Barnum in the Musical Barnum with Black Star Theatre Company.  Roles also played at AMDA include Jenna from Waitress, Marguerite from The Scarlet Pimpernel, Satine from Moulin Rouge.

Alyssa has trained at the Academy of Performing Arts for 12 years in dance (hip-hop, jazz, ballet, and tap). She has also worked with Tony Award winning Baritone Eugene Brancoveanu, Lyric Soprano Crystal McDaniel, Soprano Youn Ryo, and Tam Mutu.  Alyssa has trained in acting at Spartanburg Youth Theatre, Broadway Dreams, and has worked with director Daniel J. Witzke.  Alyssa is also an alumni of AMDA in NYC and studied Musical Theatre.

Alyssa has always been interested in the arts.  She plays the cello, piano, and guitar.  ROCK ON! Alyssa was first chair cellist throughout her middle school and high school years.  She was fortunate enough to also play with the Gardner Webb University Orchestra during her high school years as well. Alyssa also loves to travel and believes that everyone should see the world and experience new cultures. She also loves to curl up and read a book while sipping on her coffee in her free time.  Alyssa also grew up playing many sports (basketball, softball, golf, volleyball) so she enjoys exercise and screaming at her T.V. during a Georgia Bulldogs or a Tarheels football game.  Alyssa is a quick learner, a diligent worker, and is a leader. She also loves collaboration and sharing new ideas.
